Welcome to Sew Grateful! We are so happy to show you our handmade creations.
Making things and crafting has always been a joyful activity for Vickie,, even as a kid. She watched her dad go from building model airplanes to building a replica of the P51 Mustang, a WWII fighter plane, in the family garage! Dad made the frame for the pilot's seat and Vickie made the canvas seat and back.
We specialize in textiles using 100% cotton, metals, and cork, the light, thick, elastic outer bark of a cork oak tree. Our colorful fabrics are used to make bags, wallets, home furnishings, journals, kitchen gifts, pillows and pillowcases.
Why cork? Rather than using leather from animals, we have chosen to use cork. Cork fabric is sustainable, durable, eco friendly, and hypoallergenic.

When we started brainstorming names for our new business we wanted one that was unique and lovely, just like the gifts we create. As we played around with catchy names, our hearts were filled with gratitude to God for giving us this opportunity to spend time together and have fun. And then it came to us...
~For the gifts He gives us, for our families and the people He brings into our lives, for the doors He opens, we are Sew Grateful.

Meet Janet
Hi folks. We’d like to introduce you to Janet, the newest member of the Sew Grateful Gifts Team. Janet comes from a long line of fashion experts who have displayed the latest fashion trends in department stores and clothiers around the world. She brings a wealth of experience to our team as she brings our clothing, purses, and accessories to life. Her versatility allows us to show you our latest creations, and lets you preview your purchase before it is sent to you.
Janet grew up in a crowded warehouse with several of her extended family. Having heard of all the possibilities available to her, she set out on her own and was eventually discovered by OverStocked.com. Janet arrived in the Washington, D.C. area in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic, so meeting new friends was a challenge for her. She did meet Karen though. She and Karen have lunch together, but Janet never complains to the Manager. She never sends her half eaten meal back to the kitchen. Janet never uses her privilege to gain advantage or put others down. Her curly “red” hair is usually tucked under one of her stylish hats. She and Karen are so different in so many ways but even though Karen can be annoying, Janet loves people and always looks at life through a colorful lens as she strives to share all the Sew Grateful gifts with you.
